What's a Big Dog mower? Hustler's better looking brother for one.

 In analogy talk Big Dog is the GMC to the Hustler Chevrolet.  A lot of people are familiar with the fact that GMC and Chevrolet trucks are made in the same factories, with many of the same parts. This is also true for Hustler and Big Dog mowers, most of the same parts made in the same factory on the same assembly line, just painted a different color.

While the Big Dog carries a slightly higher price tag on it's lower end models than Hustler, it also has several nicer standard features.  Big Dog Alpha models (compare to Hustler Raptor) come standard with rear engine gaurds, LED headlights, a much nicer and more comfortable seat and an industry leading 7 Year Limited warranty as well as an hour meter.  All of which are add on parts to the Raptor and if you calculate them out actually end up costing more.

As you go up through the product lines to the mid line models, the price comes closer together between the two brands and then as you get to the top of the line models there are actually some pretty decent savings in buying a Big Dog over a Hustler.

Although very popular mowers in many parts of the country, Big Dogs have not had all that great of representation here in our area until now. So I thought I would provide some history and facts about the Big Dog Mower manufacturer and it's very closely related Hustler brand mowers.
